How to Write a Sad Love Story

Have you always dreamed of writing a sad love story? You can write a whole story from beginning to end. You can write a short story or a whole novel. Believe in yourself and just start writing. Make a deadline and meet it, that’s all it takes. Make a word count goal and stick to it everyday. Here are a few tips to get you thinking about how to write your very own story.

The Plot: To create a heartbreaking love story the initial information about the story is important. The beginning is important. When you create anything, you need a solid start to it, so that you have something good to build on. The most enjoyable stories are those that bring out emotions in your readers. If the initial part of the story brings out the happiness of the story, then this will allow you to create the sad ending. Don’t worry too much about how you will get from point A to point B. Just start writing, ideas will come to you as you write. Knowing a general plot is all you need, such as girl meets boy. Boy looses girl and so on…

Creating mood:
A key to any sad romantic story, is to create a mood of happiness and joy. You want to make the initial mood as peaceful, happy, and a place that someone would enjoy being. It can be in a physically peaceful and beautiful place, or in a beautiful situation that brings great joy. Try to put a certain mood or conflict on every page. Keep the readers turning those pages, so they cannot wait to see what happens next.

Creating characters you care about:
You must make the main players someone that most people would enjoy knowing. When you care about the characters involved in a heartrending love story, you start to appreciate their feelings and their situation. You must also make them people that we see in everyday life so that we all can relate to them. Create strengths and weaknesses in the characters personalities or emotions, that in the future may be used to help create the problems which lie ahead. Give readers a hero or heroine they can relate to, but make them human as well. No one is perfect. Make your bad guys have a motive as well, besides just being crazy.

The first meeting: The next important thing to do is to make the first meeting of the characters real. We all can remember our first meeting with those that we know well, and it is important to make it as real as possible. It will allow the reader to appreciate the meeting as one that happens in everyday in life. Show the love that ignites around the characters. Describe how the characters are feeling when they first meet. Describe how their surroundings affect them.

The relationship:
Now it is important for the writer to make the relationship grow into something special. This can be very enjoyable for many writers because you can use your thoughts to make emotional bonds between the characters. Remember that the more you make the subjects care about one another, the more tear jerking love story you will have.

The reasons that make the sad love story: Now that you have a happy story that seems to be going well, you need to create a situation that is too difficult for the couple to overcome. The two major reasons a couple ends their relationship are being unfaithful, or the pressures of dealing with bad money situations. These two problems are used many times in sad love stories. You can also include situations like illness, mental or emotional problems, or even misunderstandings that can not be solved due to a lack of communication. Create a major conflict and a whole bunch of little conflicts, both internal and external, in order to keep the story moving.

The final chapter: It is important now to create a final situation in which the couple cannot overcome their problems. Make sure that you show the emotions of each character and the sadness it brings. Write about their reactions to the problem and show how it affects each character. This will allow your readers to feel the pain of this couple, and will allow them to feel bad for them because of the connection they have with the characters in the story.

The most important thing is to have fun writing your story. Just keep on writing. Remember that this is just a first draft. Nobody’s first draft is 100% ready to be publish. So have fun writing, even if you think it is crap, just keep writing. Write everyday, even if it is just one sentence. Keep writing in order to keep the momentum going. Create characters you love. Give them sexy or wacky personality traits. Create conflict on every page and make you story heartbreaking. Believe in yourself and know that you can write an amazing sad love story!

Reasons People Relate To A Sad Love Story

Why is it that most human beings can relate to a sad love story? Well, there are many reasons, of course, but here are just a few for you to mull over:

It can be easily said that most humans crave love. People are born to give and receive love, and in fact, love is said to be the emotion responsible for most of the things that people do and say. And, unless you are one of those rare people who don't feel anything at all, you can probably relate to needing the connection in your life, as well.

Most people can easily relate to a sad romantic story that was supposed to last forever, but it didn’t, instead it ended badly. Most of us have experienced the same type of heartbreak others experience, at least once in our lives, if not more. So when a person hears about a tragic ending to a love story - or sees a sad love movie - she automatically makes a connection with the person, or actor, she most relates to in regard to her own experience. This also helps a person see that broken hearts are common to most, and helps her to realize she is not alone, she hasn't been singled out for punishment. Bad things happen to us all, we just have to keep moving on. Have hope that one day your story will have a happily ever after.

Misery Loves Company with a Sad Love Story

A heartbreaking love story can opens a person's eyes to see that she's in "good" company when she watches another go through something she has gone through in her own life, especially if the other person's circumstances are worse than her own were. This may seem like a cruel and cold-hearted way for someone to make a connection, but in essence, it helps that person to laugh it off and stop feeling bad about her own life, as she now learns to count her blessings. Life is too short to feel sad for very long. Think about all the good relationships you will have in the future. Think about how you are a stronger person. Know that good will come of this.

A perfect love life all the time makes for boring conversation. It's also a fact that if all the love relationships in the world went off without a hitch, no one would ever want to hear about them - or pay to watch movies about them, either. However, those love affairs that turn out to be train-wrecks are fascinating to everyone - especially if the storyline has to do with love that has become suddenly "unrequited" for no apparent reason, or those in which a third party has become involved. And, look at it this way - without sad love stories, which turn sour, there would be no more need for those popular sad love songs that are such a hit with most people.

So now you know a few of the reasons most people can relate to a sad love story. Whether or not they have noble intentions of being sympathetic by their interest, the fact remains that sadness in love seems to hold a strong attraction for the masses. Many people use them as a great way to cope over their own relationship breakups. They can be a good way to let it all out and then to get your mind off of yourself. There is always someone who had worse relationship stories than you. Love is hard to find, but if it wasn’t, life might be too boring. So lets be happy regardless of what happens and know that one day we will find true love.
